After a successful career in finance, I joined NFOP in January 2020 and enjoy all aspects of my role, particularly engagement
with our members. An avid reader and sports fan, I enjoy football, tennis, cricket and rugby albeit from the armchair these days!

Finance & Operations Manager
I joined our organisation in November 1992, known then as The National Federation of Royal Mail and BT Pensioners, as an Office Junior. After qualifying I was offered the position of Finance Officer and in 2018 took on the responsibilty of Operations.

During my 32 years, I have held a variety of roles and seen lots of changes. I am now the Membership & EC Support Manager and
enjoy the daily interaction with our branches and members. Every day is different.

Communications & Events Manager
After 25 years in the international airlines, travel and hospitality industry, I moved to the membership organisation sector 7 years ago and joined the NFOP in January 2022 overseeing marketing, communications and events.

I started working for NFOP in July 2001 as a part-time Finance Officer. I enjoy working within our small, dedicated team who are all working towards the same goal - to help and support our members on a day-to-day basis.
Megan Rixson
Membership & Communications Assistant
With 6 years of marketing experience, I am the newest member of the NFOP team having joined in August 2023. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, trying out delicious new recipes, and throwing myself into a gripping book or TV series.'
NFOP Executive Committee
Made up of devoted volunteers, the job of the NFOP EC is to approve the strategic direction of the organisation, provide governance, ensure that requirements are fulfilled and that the NFOP operates in a financially responsible and prudent manner.
EC Members are nominated and elected by NFOP branches and come from many different backgrounds, bringing a wealth of life experience to the management of the NFOP.

I retired in 2000 after a 34 year career with BT and joined the NFOP Birmingham Fordrough Lane Branch. As NFOP Chairman I am active in all areas of work undertaken by the EC ensuring that we achieve the best possible results for the NFOP.

After a long career in banking, I ran a pub company for 9 Years. I am a member of the Bexley NFOP branch, chairman of the London Area Committee and involved in a variety of charitable organisations.
Alok Agrawal

BSc (Hons) Electronics Engineer, I worked on the design of Telephone Exchange Equipment TXE4A, System X. In 1980 founded a charity, Agrasen Sabha, promoting Indian culture and heritage and I am Trustee of a number of charities in North London.
June Lee
EC Member
I worked for BT in various management roles, then in NHS finance. I have a degree and financial qualifications. An NFOP member for over 20 years, serving on the NFOP Internal Audit & Risk Committee from 2006 to 2015 and the Executive Committee for over 5 years.
James Nelson

I retired from BT in 1996 and was a Sergeant in the Royal Corp of Transport Territorial and Volunteer Reserve (TAVR) until 1982 before leaving to study for a university degree.
I continue to be the proud Standard bearer for the RASC/RCT Reading branch and the Henley-on-Thames Dunkirk Veterans.

I have been a member of the NFOP since 2006 after retiring from 57 years in the postal industry. A qualified accountant, I was vice-Chair of CERP (the European Postal Regulators Committee) from 2005 to 2011.

An employee of British Steel for 20 years, I joined the NFOP as British Steel delegate.
Throughout my working life and in retirement the most rewarding thing is being able to help others with concerns they may face in later life.

A special needs teacher in primary schools for over 26 years and an invigilator in secondary schools I have been on the Executive Committee for over 4 years.
