1.1 million extra staff will be required at a cost of £86.4 billion. This is due to our ageing population, an increase in people living with long-term illnesses and the backlog created by Covid. There are already job retention issues following the stress endured during Covid and pay dissatisfaction.

The report also said that the level of investment by the Government, including what is being raised from their controversial increase on National Insurance, is insufficient.
