Liason with pension schemes
BT, Royal Mail & British Steel Group
| We meet regularly with senior management of BT, Royal Mail and British Steel to discuss issues affecting pensioners. |
| We have a good relationship with the pension administration centre staff of all three businesses. Many problems raised by our members are sorted out by Malcolm Booth the Assistant General Secretary/Treasurer, in discussion with the pension centres |
| We work closely with the Trades Unions - Communication Workers Union, Connect, Amicus (the Communication Managers Association) and Community (formerly the Iron & Steel Trades Confederation). We discuss all issues affecting pensions and pensioners and how improvements can be included in pay claims negotiated by the unions. |
| We have an excellent working relationship with the Trustees of all three pension schemes and meet and talk with them regularly. Many member queries and problems are dealt with successfully by the AGS/T contacting the pension scheme secretariat on behalf of the member. |
